How to Determine Optimal Tweeting Times

You could read 10 articles all telling you 10 different times that are the “best” to post on social media sites. Here is the truth, the optimal times to post on social media sites is unique for everyone. You have to identify for yourself what the best times to post are. Most likely these times will differ even between your own social media sites. Here are a few tools to help you figure out what time is the best for you to tweet.

The key to using these tools is to look at when your followers are active. You want to tweet when they are on Twitter because there is a much better chance they will see your tweet and then maybe respond to it or retweet it.

Optimal Posting Time Tools

This site offers far more than just optimal posting times, but for the sake of keeping this blog post relatively short we are just going to focus on this feature. To start go to “Analyze Followers”. Here you can enter in any twitter handle (it doesn’t just have to be yours) and see a lengthy report including a section “Most active hours of (Your Twitter Handle)’s followers”. According to my analytics below my followers are mostly online at 2pm.

I saved the best for last. Tweriod has the most in-depth analysis about your followers for free. There are three main options to view your statistics, “General Stats”, “Hourly Graphs” and “@replies”. According to my analytics represented in the first graph, weekdays at 12pm I get the most @replies. So this would be one of my optimal times to tweet along with weekdays at 2 pm, weekends at 10pm and 11pm. The second graph shows when my followers are online, for weekdays 6pm is when most of my followers are online.
